MailerLite Integration

The integration between Responsly and MailerLite allows you to connect survey data collection with marketing and communication activities seamlessly.

With this setup:

  • All email addresses provided in Responsly surveys can be automatically stored in MailerLite,
  • Survey responses (e.g., NPS, satisfaction, preferences) can populate custom fields in MailerLite,
  • Your MailerLite subscriber list remains up to date and ready for segmentation and campaigns,
  • With Flows in Responsly, you can add conditions (e.g., email + legal consent) to ensure only selected responses are transferred to MailerLite.

This integration makes it easier to combine customer feedback with marketing communication, improves the quality of your mailing list, and supports compliance with GDPR.

1) What to Prepare

  • Access to a Responsly account with Integrations permissions.
  • Access to a MailerLite account (new version).
  • MailerLite API key (you can generate it in MailerLiteIntegrations/API).

2) Enable Integration in Responsly

  1. Log in to Responsly.
  2. Go to Connect → MailerLite.
  3. Paste your MailerLite API key and confirm.

(Where to find the API key: in MailerLite under Integrations/API).

  4. Once connected, you will see the status “Connected” and gain the ability to select groups and map fields.

3) Field Mapping (Responsly → MailerLite)

  1. In the integration module, select the target Group in MailerLite where new contacts should be added.

    Configure field mapping:

    • Email (required) → email in MailerLite
    • First/Last Name (if collected) → name, last_name (or custom fields)
    • Additional survey attributes (e.g., NPS, CSAT, tags) → custom fields in MailerLite

      Decide whether to:

    • Create new subscribers if they don’t exist (upsert),
    • Update existing subscribers (e.g., add fields, tags).

MailerLite supports custom fields and groups/lists — fields and parameters are aligned with the API.

4) Sending Surveys

  • Surveys are sent directly from Responsly, using available methods:
  • Responses are first collected in Responsly, and then (based on integration settings) saved in MailerLite.
  • By default, without flows — all emails provided will be stored in MailerLite.

5) Flows in Responsly (Optional)

With Flows in Responsly, you can set additional conditions that determine which responses will be transferred to MailerLite.

Example:

  • Condition 1: respondent provided an email address
  • Condition 2: respondent checked the legal consent box

👉 If conditions are met → contact + response are sent to MailerLite.

👉 If conditions are not met → the response remains in Responsly but is not exported to MailerLite.

Benefits:

  • GDPR compliance — only subscribers who gave consent are stored.
  • Cleaner MailerLite database — no contacts without emails or without consent.
  • Flexibility — you can add other conditions (e.g., survey score, option selection).

6) Common Issues

  • Responses not saved → check if flows are configured correctly (email, consent).
  • Error connecting accounts → verify the MailerLite API key.
  • Incorrect data → ensure fields in Responsly are mapped to the correct MailerLite fields.

Summary

  • The integration works out of the box — all emails will be saved in MailerLite.
  • Flows in Responsly are an additional feature that lets you filter and store only responses meeting specific conditions (e.g., email provided + legal consent).
