Testing the survey

After your survey is prepared, test end-to-end before you invite a wide audience. Confirm:

  • there are no copy or configuration errors,
  • question order matches the intended journey,
  • logic and branching send people to the right pages (including a safe path to the end page).

Thorough testing reduces respondent confusion and protects data quality.

How to test the survey

After you finish creating the form (questions, welcome page, end page, redirect):

  1. Click Preview at the top of the page.
  2. Complete the survey and click Send.
  3. Your test answer is saved in Analysis, where you can confirm charts, exports, and per-question views.
  4. Repeat on a narrow screen or mobile browser to check tap targets and line breaks.

Testing the survey preview

Remove accidental pilot rows with Delete responses. For a static PDF of the questionnaire, use How to print a survey. If logic misbehaves, revisit Create the logic in the survey.

FAQ

How do I preview a Responsly survey before sharing it?

Click Preview in the editor, complete the flow as a respondent would, and submit. Open Analysis to see how answers, scores, and exports will look.

Do preview submissions count toward results?

Test rows land in Analysis like real data—remove stray test responses from Analysis → Responses if they should not affect totals.

What should I verify while testing?

Check wording, question order, required fields, skip logic, timers or quotas if enabled, end page or redirect URLs, and layout on a phone-sized viewport.
